Gone West for a Wedding… Part 1

Today we had to make a trip to the western suburbs yet again for a wedding… this time it was a bit further west than Fairfield/Cabramatta…

Yup… Perth it is.. I don’t think you can get further west than here. It’s wierd flying for 4 hours only to lose an hour of time.. My body was really telling me “what the hell mate?”

So in Perth city we saw a bunch of CBD’esque buildings and there was an art exhibit on (either that or some bamboo scaffolding went kaput)

Here’s where we stayed, the Hyatt in Perth… the inside was HUGE.

After we checked our gear in, we went for a drive to see the sights along the river nearbyp1000762.jpg

Before we knew it, it was 7pm Perth time which meant it was 10pm Sydney time.. and we haven’t had dinner yet! We saw from one of the brochures we picked up from the airport that there was a good pizza restaurant on Northbridge… we were greeted with this:

After walking 300m, we couldn’t hold out any further… We stopped by the busiest restaurant on the strip:

It’s wierd, the fitout and vibe was something you’d come across in Bankstown but the demography as you can see is completely inverted (we were the minority in an Asian restaurant for a change).

There is one uniformity in Asian restaurants around the globe… It’s IMPOSSIBLE to pour a pot of tea without half of it’s contents spilling all over the table. That’s the reason why asian restaurants have replaced table cloths with hard/water resistant surfaces.
